Stay safe on the slopes
The mountains are a magnificent playground, but it’s important to follow a few rules to fully and safely enjoy them.
Mountain Code of Conduct: Familiarize yourself with the essential rules to follow on the slopes by consulting the Mountain Code of Conduct.
Mountain Biking
- Prepare for your rideMake sure your equipment is in good condition and bring the necessary tools for repairs. Don’t overestimate your abilities. Check the weather forecast and prepare accordingly.
- Do not ride on closed trailsA trail may be closed to protect the environment or for your safety. Riding on a closed trail can be dangerous and cause damage.
- Avoid riding in the mudMake sure the trail is rideable. Riding on muddy trails leads to increased erosion, trail widening, and long-lasting damage.
- Respect wildlife and the environmentRide in a way that preserves the trail: avoid skidding and unnecessary wheel locking. Do not litter and avoid startling animals.
- Stay on the trailDo not intentionally ride off-trail. Avoid taking unmarked shortcuts, which can be harmful to both you and the ecosystem.
- Ride carefully and be courteous at all timesSlow down when approaching other riders and politely announce your presence. On two-way trails, uphill riders have the right of way over descending riders.
- Ride slowly on busy trailsFor your safety and that of others, reduce your speed when trails are busy.
- Wear a helmetWearing a helmet is strongly recommended at all times during your activity.
Important: Electric bikes are prohibited, while pedal-assist bikes are allowed on the trails.
Tips for a successful day :
- Adapt your speed according to your level and the conditions.
- Obey road signs and patrol instructions.
