Job description
Grow and leave your mark
Reporting to the Director of Lift Operations, the operator ensures the lifts run properly and carries out the loading and unloading operations required for the safe use of the lifts.
Responsibilities
At the heart of the action
- Take part in opening and closing the lifts.
- Control access to the lifts.
- Safely load and unload users.
- Support the attendants with ticket checks and make sure every user is compliant.
- Take part in slope monitoring.
- Handle equipment lost at the loading zone.
- Operate the surface lifts safely.
- Apply emergency procedures when needed (evacuation, power outages, accidents and injuries, etc.).
- Identify potential hazards, correct them and report any anomaly to the immediate supervisor.
- Maintain and clear snow from seats and from loading and unloading areas.
- Reposition the gates in the waiting areas.
- Perform the daily lift inspection.
- Complete operating reports and logbooks.
- Act as team lead during the shift.
- Any other related tasks.
Qualifications
What we’re looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Manual skills.
- Relevant experience with ski lifts (an asset).
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Experience driving ATVs and snowmobiles.
- Good physical condition: standing and walking throughout the shift, working outdoors in the cold for several hours, lifting loads of up to 20 kg.
- Punctual, autonomous and reliable; leadership, team spirit and effective communication.
