Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure, the snowmaking operator produces snow on the mountain and sets up the equipment.
Responsibilities
At the heart of the action
- Set up, start, stop and move snow guns manually and/or with motorized equipment.
- Make sure the hydrants are working properly.
- Use a propane torch to thaw certain pieces of equipment.
- Check the condition of supply lines, hoses and fittings.
- Continuously monitor the quality of the snow produced.
- Roll up the hoses.
- Read the pressure data on the pump and compressor gauges.
- Start up the pumps and compressors.
- Feed the snowmaking lines.
- Safely operate off-road vehicles in line with company policies and procedures (ATVs, snowmobiles, side-by-sides).
- Be responsible for the snowmaking attendants on shift.
- Any other related tasks.
Qualifications
What we’re looking for
- Relevant experience in snowmaking.
- Ability to use hand tools.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Experience driving ATVs and snowmobiles.
- Good physical condition: standing and walking throughout the shift, working nights, working outdoors in the cold for several hours, lifting and carrying loads of up to 20 kg.
- Punctual, honest, autonomous and reliable; team player with effective communication.

- 8-hour or 12-hour shifts
- Variable schedule, must be available 7 days a week
- Employees may not leave their post before their replacement arrives, without prior approval from their department manager.
